4/7/2023 0 Comments Cisco 5505 asa power supplyI took the power supply that I pulled from the one that I pulled from the dead ASA yesterday (probably a bad idea), and plugged it into one of the spares we had from an old office. So today, back at my office, I was about to prepare another ASA 5505. I left the dead one where it was at as I plan on going back today (so I don't lose where the mess of cables went). It was late in the day so I did not have a spare ASA preconfigured to bring along. It still did not boot up - and no lights. I confirmed that the power source was good, so I swapped out the ASA's power supply. When I arrived, there were no lights on the ASA. Yesterday we had one die in a remote office (death #4), so I stopped by to make sure it was not some sort of user error, like being unplugged, loose cables, etc., and also brought a spare power supply. ![]() We have a lot of ASA 5505's deployed, and for years have had no issues. ![]() I just need to bounce this off of my fellow Spiceheads.
